On a boat to Crete, Greece

I'd like to thank everyone for your thoughts, advice, and good wishes concerning my unfortunate back problems I'm having. I'm pleased to say I think I've passed the apex of the pain bell curve. Assuming I continue to take it easy and don't re-injur myself, I expect I'll be back to normal within another week or so. I managed to get out of bed this morning, take a shower, and get on board the boat to Crete where we'll be spending the next week. While I'm glad to not be stuck in the hostel in Athens, I'm sad to have left without having gotten to see or do anything. But we do have to come back this way on our way back from Crete, so maybe I'll still get to see the Parthenon.

The hostel we're staying at in Crete looks real nice and is right by the beach in Plakias. So even though I still won't get to see or do any of the awesome ancient Greece stuff, at least hopefully I'll be able to spend some of my recovery days on a beach.

While there were moments during the last couple days where I just wanted to cancel my trip and go home, I'm optimistic things will get beter shortly and I can get back to my adventure.
